The new KDP120 digital piano is the latest addition to Kawai’s award-winning home digital instruments and an excellent introduction to Kawai’s digital piano quality.
Featuring Kawai’s Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHCII) keyboard action, the new KDP120 delivers a touch that feels and responds like an authentic acoustic grand piano action. FEATURES
TONE
The KDP120 digital piano captures the beautiful sound of Kawai’s highly acclaimed Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano, with all 88 keys of this exceptional instrument meticulously recorded, analyzed and faithfully reproduced using advanced Harmonic Imaging technology.
TOUCH
The KDP120’s Responsive Hammer Compact II (RHCII) keyboard action, now with improved cushioning to further reduce key noise, has been developed to represent the distinctive touch of an acoustic grand piano. Based on the highly-regarded RH keyboard action design, its spring-less technology and sturdy construction delivers consistent upward and downward motion for a smooth, natural, and highly authentic piano playing experience.
BLUETOOTH
The KDP120 boasts integrated Bluetooth MIDI technology, allowing the digital piano to communicate with supported smart devices wirelessly. Once paired with a phone, tablet, or laptop, KDP120 owners can easily expand the instrument’s functionality with a wide range of education, performance, and scoring apps.
GRAND FEEL PEDAL SYSTEM
The KDP120 features three pedals – soft, sostenuto, and damper (with half-damper capability). The Grand Feel Pedal System accurately replicates the position and individual weighting of the damper, soft, and sostenuto pedals of a Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano to further enhance the KDP120’s acoustic piano-like authenticity.
PIANO REMOTE APP
The KDP120’s redesigned communication standard allows players to control the instrument’s features and operations via the dedicated PianoRemote app for iOS and supported Android devices. The app connects to the piano wirelessly via the KDP120’s integrated Bluetooth, providing an effortless way to change sounds, or enjoy the vast array of built-in music content from the comfort of an armchair.
SUPERIOR HEADPHONE EXPERIENCE
The KDP120’s Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS) technology enhances the depth and realism of the instrument’s sound when listening through headphones or earphones. In addition, the KDP120 also allows players to select a variety of headphone types (Open, Semi-open, Closed, In-Ear, Canal, etc.) for an optimised listening experience.
LESSONS AND EXERCISES
The KDP120’s convenient lesson function allows aspiring pianists to learn piano with classical Czerny, Burgmüller, and Beyer, or a collection of songs from the popular Alfred’s Basic, Adult, and Premier course books. (Alfred books sold separately)
With a strong emphasis on acoustic piano realism, the KDP120 also features traditional finger exercises, scales, and warm-up drills, and includes companion books for all classical scores to further aid one’s piano development.
